About Us

Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and to each other. The Bible talks about sharpening iron. We believe that together we become stronger. We are a community of believers.

We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus asks us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. That is where the lost are found. Most churches are comfortable staying within the walls, but we make an effort to be like the church in the book of Acts, to see our city change.

We highly value our relationships with each other. We seek to grow through fellowship and ultimately grow closer to God. We value the word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We seek to extend grace to all the lost and broken, and lead the hopeless to the hope of Jesus Christ.

1. Since 2013, Pastor German Portillo, his wife Gianeth and their twins Vanessa and Valeria started small gatherings with family and friends.
2. With the help and support of the Ridge Baptist Association we were able to formalize our meetings in the facilities of fellowship hall area of the Bethel Church in Lake Wales. as a hispacinc church called Nuevo amanecer Church

3. With the growth of this group, in 2019, following steps of faith, the congregation decided to move to a rented space on central Avenida where we are today.
4. Despite a Global Pandemic in February 2020, Pastor German was officially approved as a church planter by the North American Mission Board (NAMB) through Send Network Florida and the Florida Baptist Convention.

5. As today, trying to reach the whole community we are launching a new name as it will be a name the that it has the same meaninig in both English & Spanish, and that is how ALPHA & OMEGA CHURCH was born
